Heat Policy

The Kialla Golf Club’s extreme heat policy has been introduced to provide guidance to members and guests in relation to playing conditions which might impact on the health and wellbeing of players on the golf course, on high temperature and humid days to prevent confusion about when a competition will run on days of extreme heat.

Golfers are advised to take appropriate action to prevent heat stress including wearing a wide brimmed hat and carrying sufficient water to maintain hydration. All golfers should consider their own health conditions before participating in Club Events.

All information regarding the temperature is to be checked on the Bureau of Meteorology at 6.00 pm, the evening prior to play.

THURSDAY SUMMER (1 OCTOBER – 31 MARCH):
On Thursday, players will hit off at 10.00 am.

SATURDAY:
If the temperature is expected to be 38°C or 39°C, then the competition will be a 10.00 am competition only.
NO competition entries will be accepted outside of these times.

WEDNESDAY / THURSDAY / SATURDAY / SUNDAY (SPECIAL EVENT):
If the temperature is forecast to be 40°C or more then the competition will be a 9 hole competition, with hit off at 8.00 am.

CODE RED DAYS: On a Code Red Day as declared by the Bureau of Meteorology, competition golf will NOT be played at Kialla Golf Club.

GREEN FEE PLAYERS:
Play at their own discretion. Kialla Golf Club will not be responsible for any adverse health effects.

This Heat Policy has been initiated in the interests of all players. Your health and safety is of utmost importance to us all.
