Heat Policy

The Kialla Golf Club's heat policy has been updated (December 2024) to provide suitable guidelines and guidance to members and our guests in relation to playing conditions on high temperature and humid days which may impact the health and wellbeing of players on the golf course.

These guidelines are put into place to prevent confusion and assist in understanding when a competition will be run on days of high temperatures to extreme heat days, as well as provide a recommendation for green fee players.

Golfers are advised to take appropriate action to prevent heat stress including wearing a wide brimmed hat and carrying sufficient water to maintain hydration. All golfers should consider their own health conditions before participating in Club Events or having a casual hit.

Please note that the temperature has been based on guidelines from Golf Australia after information provided in Sports Medicine Australia's policies.

All information regarding the temperature is to be checked on the Bureau of Meteorology at 6:00 pm, the evening prior to play.
